As previously discussed, plans for the solar farm on the north/west side of the A46 are pushing ahead. Most worryingly about these plans is that the applicants are asking the council to waive the need for an environmental impact assessment (EIA), which is dubious for many reasons, but most notably because the area sits within greenbelt land and close to flood plains. Although there is no formal planning application in place at the moment, comments can still be submitted with regards to the request to waiver the EIA (some residents have lodged their objection comments).
Call to action – if you would like to lodge your comments regarding the need for an EIA in this very sensitive area, please use the following link which will take you directly to the WDC page: https://planningdocuments.warwickdc.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=_WARWI_DCAPR_89533&activeTab=summary
