We have become aware of two planning matters that have recently arisen. Further detailed information will be available soon, however, below is a summary of the situation. The village needs your support – please see the call to action at the end of points one and two – many thanks!
1. Solar farm pushing ahead
Plans for the solar farm on the north/west side of the A46 are pushing ahead, it appears they are not waiting for the local plan to be announced. Most worryingly is that the applicants are asking the council to waive the need for an environmental impact assessment, which is dubious for many reasons, but most notably because the area sits within greenbelt land. Although there is no formal planning application in place at the moment, and therefore no application to submit comments against just yet, the RA will be submitting communications to the council on this subject.

2. Tree felling on Vicarage Lane
A planning application has been submitted to lop and fell several visually and historically significant trees along Vicarage Lane within the grounds of Sherbourne Priors. This will significantly change the aesthetic of the lane and opens up access for vehicle access into the grounds from Vicarage Lane – causing disturbance for residents. Additionally, the application calls this back gate a ‘driveway’, which it isn’t, it’s an access point; this generates some question about how the owners of the land plan to use this access point, and what hey plan to do with the land, going forwards.
